Marrakech car rental for Agafay: camp access and permitted roads
For an Agafay trip in a car rented in Marrakech, ask the camp for its access route and check permitted roads with the rental contact. The official tourism guide describes Agafay as a rocky desert: the word desert does not mean a rental car may freely drive off-road.

Why request the exact route to your camp?
Agafay alone identifies neither your final destination nor its access. Give the camp name and location and request the property’s recommended route. Share relevant information with the rental contact to check permitted use. Do not choose a track merely because a navigation app displays it as a shortcut to the same destination.
Is an SUV automatically required?
The choice depends on actual access, passengers and vehicle conditions, not simply the destination name. Ask whether the intended approach suits the proposed car, then obtain the rental contact’s agreement. An SUV is not off-road permission and does not guarantee insurance coverage on every track. Verify the route before deciding the category.
What should you plan for returning to Marrakech?
Coordinate your programme with the accommodation and check fuel, mileage and the car’s return time. If your evening extends, do not change rental duration without agreement. Check route and travel conditions at the time of the trip. This article states neither a guaranteed journey time nor a specific vehicle capability for your camp access.
